I made my reservation! What should I expect when I visit?

The Beginning of a Session

• Welcome, come in, come in! My name is Craig and I promise I’m friendly, calm, and won’t make any sudden movements. Let me know your name and I’ll show you around.

• Pick a seltzer from the mini-fridge, and/or make yourself a cup of tea.

• Take a seat, inhale, exhale.

• The only thing I ask visitors to make is their name tag. It’s a great warm up and works as your self-guided orientation to the space! Explore the space to see what’s here before creating your name tag.

The Middle of a Session

• Draw, paint, collage, stitch, sculpt, etc. Check @the.craft.castle on Instagram for ideas and inspiration.

• Hopefully you’ll enter the flow state. This is when you’re in the zone because you have a task that keeps your attention and requires just the right amount of skill level (not too difficult, not too easy). 

• The optional discussion question is a chance to share names and to hear from each other. Example questions: “What animal would you want as a teacher and what would they teach?” or “What are you looking forward to this week?”.

The End of a Session

• Clean up starts 10 minutes before the end of the session.

• Please help by making your desk look how you found it (putting the materials back where you found them.

• Use spray bottle and accompanying napkin to wipe down your space.

• Take your creations with you! Anything left behind can and may be gifted to one of the neighborhood cats.

• Schedule your next visit before you leave!
